My GNotebook gadget crashed when I tried to enter my account. I can't stop serial pop-up errors without quit Gdesktop from taskMgr and uninstalling it.

It happened with a latest Firefox, using browser password and mistaking google password once. I prefer to use this gadget...

Would be great to be able to add/modify notes from GNotebook.

Yes, those are the two most important features.
We plan to implement the editing on October, so stay tuned.

If you want leave a comment with your address, we will not publish it and we send you a mail when the update is ready.

Password should not be in a cleartext edit box. (This one is the MOST important)

Needs a "How to use" sort of helper in the menus or somewhere.

Auth fails when the entire email address is entered. Just user ID works. Should work for both. (Users dont know what to enter)

please obscure passwords entered into the gadget

Ok, ok the password is a problem... it is a missing feature of the google APIs, we can try to hack a bit and make it work.

Other ideas/request?

Thank you very much.

Most of my notebook contents don't show well in this gadget. Does this Desktop plugin support HTML snippets?

Definately send me an email when I can take/edit notes from the gadget, as this will change my life.

kenflannery@gmail.com

just make it super simple to start taking notes, and label it (put it in a certain heading)

ideally I'd like to hit one button (add note), start typing my note, then select which notebook and which heading to file it under. If you have it work like this I'll be forever grateful. thanks!

ps. I have my G desktop setup to hit shift shift to access it, do you know how to make a certain gadget be in focus? Let me know if you do, as it would be even better if I could set notebook to be in focus, and then you assign a quick key of your own to add note (N maybe?) so then all i have to do is hit shif shift N and start typing... then worry after i've got the thought out where i want to file it (notebook and heading). Thought first, details later. Thank you!

Even after loading, my Google Notebook contents doesn't seem to show up. All I get is a blank gadget with my user name and "logon complete" on top, and a refresh link on the bottom...but none of my entries.

Please e-mail me with updates at catoinks@dodgeit.com

The status bar says "logon complete" but my notebook does not show up. It's just blank. Are there restricitons on the names of the notebook?

When I hit refresh, it says "Loading..." until I minimize or maximize (i.e. click) on the status bar.

I use a Google password that is an email address other than @gmail.com (I don't have a Gmail account). Therefore I don't have an active user ID and it won't work.

I had high hopes of this gadget until I realised that my password is available for all to view. That's a showstopper.

Can someone help me?
My gadget seems to no longer work.
It says "logged in" but I do not see any of my notebook information.

thanks

I can't connect to my notebook at all. Other google tools for Desktop work though (like gmail)

Is there a connection to the fact that I'm behind a NAT?

Any port to open?

bye

I'm very interested in this desklet but it doesn't do anything after connecting. I hit refresh and all that does is sit at "loading..."

Because of the password issue, the login name issue (yes, I got hit with that as well) and the fact that there's no feedback or indication of what's going wrong, this applet isn't ready for primetime. I certainly hope you fix it up because it's something I'm very interested in.

With the always on top feature it could be interesting to have this gadget become transparent when not focused

At 5:50 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I cannot get this gadget to actually load my notebooks!

At 9:36 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Just installed the GNotebook gadget and it logs in fine, then says "Loading..." but nothing ever loads. Help!

At 7:29 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

You should not strip the domain and @ symbol from the user name. I have a google account that I've had since before gmail existed and my user name is my personal email address. It does not work at all with the GNotebook gadget.

Could add on category in notes to make it more interesting. Maybe category like important links, important dates, or so on. Thanks.

It says "Login Complete", but won't show my notebooks, even after refreshing. I have a dot in my username, could that be a problem?
Would be a really useful gadget.

it not import my notes to the gadgets

At 4:41 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

My logon is complete but my notes is not showing.

At 11:14 AM, Blogger Gronda said...

It looks like a great tool and I would echo the comments already made about obscuring the password, allowing the full e-mail address to be used and of course note editing.

But I have a more fundamental issue - it claims "Logon complete" but then displays nothing. None of my notebooks are shown and hitting refresh does nothing to change that. I am UK based but use google.com and the US English settings for Google services. Any ideas??

At 6:45 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I use a personall mail adres, not @gmail.com or alike. This does not work...

At 10:37 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The notebook won't show up for me. I have several but none of them display even though the gadget says "logon complete"

At 8:54 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

If the email used is not a gmail account there is no way to logon using this gadget, this should accept any email and not append or assume @gmail.com

At 2:46 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Is there any work being done on this gadget?
It would be great it worked.
It just says Logging on, please wait, or logon complete, but I still can't see any of my notebooks.
